Tributes have been paid to a motorcyclist who died at the weekend.

Dan Bellingham, 31, was riding a Yamaha motorbike in Glebe Avenue, Braintree, when he was involved in a crash with a Nissan.

Tragically, despite the best efforts of paramedics, he died at the scene.

Paying tribute, his family said: “We are sad to announce the tragic death of Dan, a much-loved son, fantastic brother, perfect partner and a truly amazing father to four beautiful children.

“He has been taken from his loving family far too soon.

“Dan, you will always be in our hearts and you will never be forgotten.”

The driver of the Nissan, a 43-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has since been released under investigation.

A 27-year old man, who was driving alongside the motorbike at the time in a Subaru, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop for a collision, and failing to report a collision.

He has been released on bail until June 6.

Witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk.
