An expanding business has been given permission to build its new premises in Great Notley, bringing 40 jobs to the area.

Insurance firm David Oliver Associates is set to relocate from its current Great Dunmow home to the Skyline Business Park, off the A131, where a new 757sqm unit, roughly the size of one-and-a-half tennis courts, will be built for the business.

Planning approval has now been given for the business, which provides underwriting and brokering services to insurance companies, to start work on its new home.

David Oliver, managing director of David Oliver Associates, said: “We are ready to start the build of our new offices and the plan is for them to be completed before the year end so we can move the majority of our staff over in early 2019.

"After 22 years of high growth in the insurance sector, our new offices will be just what we need to underpin our plans to double in size over the next five years."

Many of the business' 42 members of staff already reside within the Braintree District, and when the new premises are complete it is expected the size of the workforce will grow significantly.

Mr Oliver said: "We are currently responsible for insurance premiums totalling £25m.

"In addition, our cutting edge software currently supports large corporate companies as well as insurance brokers to process many millions of pounds of leisure travel insurance on bespoke online platforms.

"We are very excited about the future and being able make a significant contribution to the Braintree economy.”

Parking spaces for 13 cars, including one disabled space, also form part of the designs for the premises, as well as six cycle spaces.
