Student midwives enjoyed a break from their studies by watching lambs being born.
The third-year Anglia Ruskin students attended farms in Essex and Cambridgeshire for the annual trip to learn from watching live births.
Around 40 students attended the most recent event at Boydells Dairy Farm, Wethersfield, where farmer Kiley Threadgold introduced the students to the animals and talked them through the lambing process.
Martina Donaghy, senior lecturer in midwifery at Anglia Ruskin University, said: “The annual visits to see the lambing are a real highlight of the year.
“At a time that students are preparing their final year projects, it relieves the pressure a little for them and lets them get a bit closer to nature.
“Seeing lambs being born is also educational for them as it gives them a chance to witness a live delivery and to understand a little more about mammalian birth.”
