A man had to be rescued by firefighters after becoming trapped in a partially collapsed barn.
A fire crew from Braintree was called to Braintree Road, Shalford, at 11.04am this morning.
Three people were in the barn when part of the internal structure gave way whilst building work was taking place to remove one of the walls.
One man was struck by a piece of equipment which was being used to prop up the structure.
Firefighters worked alongside the ambulance service to allow them access to the casualty, before ensuring the area was safe.
The crew left the scene at 11.59am.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We dispatched a Hazardous Area Response Team, an ambulance crew, ambulance officer and a rapid response vehicle to Braintree Road, Shalford.
"The man had suffered minor facial injuries and was taken to Broomfield Hospital for further care."
