Stansted Airport celebrates record year-on-year total
Stansted airport welcomed a record numbers of passengers through the airport in the last year.
The rolling 12-month total of 26 million is an increase of nearly 1.7 million over the previous year, or 6.8 per cent - making it the highest total recorded in Stansted's history.
The airport was also at the heart of Mother's Day celebrations this week, with more than 1,000 tonnes of flowers passing through the airport in the run-up to the event.
More than half of the flowers flown into the UK from outside of Europe come in via Stansted airport.
