Thewinners of Witham Town Council's window display and Dickensian stall awards have been crowned.

Due to illnesses over the winter period, the initial presentation event had to be delayed, but the winners were just as delighted to receive their awards last week.

The winner of the best stall at last year's Dickensian Christmas Market went to the Bethel Christian Fellowship.

Mayor JoAnn Williams presented to group with their award at The Well cafe in the town.

She said: "Their stall was chosen by the judges for first prize because it just made everyone feel like Christmas.

"Beautifully decorated with Christmas cheer, it was a great inspiration to start off the Christmas season."

First prize in the Christmas window competition went to Havens Hospice charity shop in the Grove Centre.

Second place went to Yaxley Homes, and third to Visions of Witham.

Mrs Williams said: "Well done and thank you to all who participated. We look forward to having even more entries next year, where our window theme will be Christmas Films."
