EAST Thurrock United are into the last eight of the Essex Senior Cup, although Bowers & Pitsea’s journey in the competition came to an emphatic end.

Rocks got off to a flying start against Waltham Abbey of the Isthmian North, with Max Cornhill netting the opener after just four minutes.

The hosts were looking to continue their fine run of form and book a place in the quarter-finals of the competition, and they were given a further boost just before the half hour.

Calvin Ekpiteta scored the second, with Montel Agyemang grabbing a third with 30 minutes of the game remaining.

Michael Spencer scored a last minute consolation for Abbey as the tie ended 3-1.
