Two school quiz teams have made it into the regional finals of a science competition.
The teams, each made up of two Year 5 and 6 pupils from Felsted School, triumphed over their opponents during the area heats of the Key Stage 2 Quiz Club Championship at Holmwood House.
The two teams took an early lead against Holmwood House, St Anne’s, Thorpe School and Gosfield and by the 37th question were neck and neck, competing for the top position.
They finally crossed the finish line with 1,790 points apiece, achieving the first dead heat in a Quiz Club competition.
Topics were drawn from the fields of human biology, astronomy, great inventors and inventions, physics, zoology, ecology, earth science, oceanography, geology, meteorology, botany and chemistry.
The two Felsted teams will now be revising hard in preparation for the regional final, the date of which will be confirmed.
