It’s that day of the week again – the dreaded Monday.

Time to go back to work and get back into the daily grind of 9-5, that’s if you’re lucky.

But to take the edge off, here are eight ways to boost your day:

1. Why not try your hand at Ceroc dancing?

Ceroc includes rock and roll, jive, and salsa moves with music ranging from 60s Motown, to Top 40 chart music.

The beginners class is from 8pm to 8.40pm, small freestyle from 8.40pm to 9pm and intermediate classes from 9pm to 9.30pm.

All beginners take part in the beginners review class with taxi dancers (helpers) and get an opportunity to learn the new move twice in one evening.

2. Pilates with Ingrid

Pilates will improve your core and back strength as well as tone your body and improve overall strength and flexibility.

It focuses on balance, posture, strength and flexibility, while being suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.

3. Go Shin Ryu Ju-jitsu

Go Shin Ryu Jujitsu is a form of martial art that concentrates on self-defence and fitness.

Classes range from between one hour for children from 4.5 years to 1.5 hours for intermediates and seniors.

Takes place at 6.30pm for combined adults and intermediates in Maltings Academy, Spinks Lane, Witham.

4. Jazzercise

A high intensity mix of dance-based cardio and strength training for aimed at burning calories in a total body workout.

Starts at 7.30pm in Powers Hall Junior School, Spa Road, Witham.

The popular singing group perform a series of shows every year and meet every Monday at 7.30pm in United Reformed Church.

6. Badminton

Fancy something more energetic? Then try your hand at badminton.

Suitable for those 16 or older and takes place from 6pm to 8pm in Bramston Sports Centre, Bridge Street, Witham.

7. Yoga with Ingrid

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing.

It usually focuses on posture and breathing, with the practice originating in India about 5,000 years ago.

Takes place from 6.45pm in St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Street, Bocking.

8. Not in the mood to move? It’s Mexican night at Wetherspoons!

If you’re not feeling sporty then there’s always Mexican Mondays at the pub.
