A series of Saturday Christmas markets are set to take place in Braintree, with road closures set to be implemented.
Every Saturday from December 2 until December 23, Braintree High Street, including Great Square and Market Place, will be closed to drivers to allow pedestrian access during the events.
The markets will feature a range of suppliers and business providing handmade goods such as jewellery, art, homeware and clothing as well as food and drink stalls.
Braintree Council wants to traders to sign up to take part in the event, which is part of a line-up of Christmas events around the district.
Tom Cunningham, councillor responsible for economic development, said: "It’s great to see that each town centre is hosting fantastic events to launch Christmas in their local communities including a range of great entertainment, markets, competitions and activities lined up.
"This is a fantastic way to start the Christmas festivities and will bring a timely boost to local businesses in the town centres.
"I would encourage you all to visit your local town to see what it has to offer and join in the festive fun.”
