A CHILD with a congenital heart condition enjoyed a day to remember courtesy of some X Factor favourites and a generous company.

BGC Brokers lost 658 colleagues and 61 employees when the Twin Towers fell and ever since have dedicated a special day to help others and bring some good from the horror.

This year 11-year-old Louis Ray Skillicorn-Aston, a Little Havens Hospice patient from Witham, was one of those to benefit as he met some singing superstars, not to mention royalty.

Louis travelled to Canary Wharf for the BGC Charity Day.

He met stars including: Louisa Johnson, Matt Terry, Cheryl Tweedy and Davina McCall.

He was accompanied by mum Elaine.

She said: "It was such a fantastic day. Everyone was so lovely and Louisa was brilliant with the children. One of the brokers even invited Louis Ray to complete a £5 million deal.

“As we were leaving we bumped into Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.

"As I’m ex-military, I automatically stood to attention and said, ‘Hello ma’am’ and she guessed I’d come from the Army.

"I told her all about Little Havens and the support they give my family.”

Louis has been receiving support for four years at the hospice for children with life limiting conditions.

The day was held on September 11.
