A 40-year-old driver was approached by a man in his car who opened his door and tried to punch him.
The male driver was sitting in his car in the car park outside Toby Carvery off the B1256 at Notley Cross at about 11.40am yesterday, September 7.
He was approached by a man who opened the driver’s door and attempted to punch him.
The victim was unhurt and drove off.
The suspect drove off in a white van towing a large caravan, which was last seen on the A120 between Braintree and Dunmow.
He was described as white, 6ft tall, of stocky build and aged in his late 40s. He had cropped blond hair.
Police want to speak to any witnesses, particularly an elderly couple who were walking in the area at the time and the driver of a Porsche.
They are asked to contact Braintree CID on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
