A BRAINTREE man has been arrested following a robbery from a Co-Op store in the town.

Just after 8am this morning, a man went in to the Co-Op store in Church Street and demanded money. He left with less than £100 in cash.

Essex Police responded to the incident in seven minutes and conducted a search of the area.

Ben Cresswell, 37, of Queens Road, Braintree, has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

He will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court tomorrow, Monday, August 21.
