Over the last three weeks, there has been a number of articles in the Braintree and Witham Times concerning new housing.
Firstly, turning properties in the High Street into flats. I do not think that can be described as high street regeneration.
Then, the council picked on sporting venues to build on and in last week’s paper, dated July 27, 600 houses at Towerlands.
There are two questions I would like the council to answer.
When turning greenfield sites into concrete and tarmac, where will rain water drain to?
And how many councillors making these decisions on housing live and shop in Braintree?
In closing, W J Gepp mentioned the motto “Braintree means Business”.
I believe it changed to “Braintree means Tesco”, and is not “Braintree means Housing”.
