A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after a serious three-vehicle crash.
The incident happened at 10.43am on the A131 near Penny Pot Corner, about one mile south of the town, and police closed the road between Braintree and Halstead.
A white KTM bike has collided with a blue Volvo XC90 and a red Peugeot 107.
A 21-year-old man, who was the rider of the motorbike, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by air ambulance with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The drivers of the cars were uninjured.
The road is due to be reopened fully at around 3pm this afternoon.
