THE CM postcode has officially been named as one of the luckiest in the country.

CM ranks 13th in the country for the number of lottery millionaires that have been created since the launch of The National Lottery.

In all since the first ever draw in 1994 a massive 64 millionaires, or multimillionaires, have been created in the postcode.

Back in November last year, Jacqui Shannon, of Witham, banked a £1million prize from a EuroMillions draw - despite waiting three weeks to claim the cash.

The mum-of-one ignored all the initial emails with news about her ticket but luckily managed to grab the cash before it was too late and treated her family to a set of new cars.

Winners from the CM postcode also came in 19th position for big prizes since 2012, with 82 ticketholders banking a top tier prize of at least £50,000.

In all since 1994, 421 top tier prizes have been won by people with a Chelmsford postcode.

Andy Carter, senior winners' advisor at The National Lottery, said: “The CM postcode has certainly recorded a bumper couple of years, long may that run of luck continue.

"We’ve been delighted to welcome these lucky CM ticketholders to the ever-expanding lottery winners club and there’s always room for more."

More than £63million has also been distributed to National Lottery funded products around our area since the launch of the game.
