THE long-awaited opening of a popular restaurant chain will bring 30 new jobs to Braintree.

Bill’s Restaurant is bringing its all day dining experience to Freeport Braintree from Monday.

Opening in the former premises of Tutti Tuscan Grille, the new restaurant has space for more than 200 diners in total, with 130 seats indoors and 68 outside.

Bill’s started out in Lewes, East Sussex, where the chain started as a café and was first set up by greengrocer Bill Collison.

Success after success has followed for the business and there are now more than 30 restaurants across the country.

Seasonal food is served in relaxed surroundings and the restaurant is open for service at breakfast, lunch and dinner time.

The cocktail menu is also particularly popular with guests and the at Freeport restaurant is fully licensed.

Bill Collison, founder of Bill’s, said: “I am delighted to announce the opening of Bill’s Restaurant in Braintree.

“We look forward to welcoming curious locals and weary shoppers to soak up the friendly atmosphere and tuck into our wide range of fresh fare.”

The Freeport restaurant will also offer Bill’s branded food and drink products such as jams, chutneys and biscuits for sale in store.

Around 30 staff will be employed at the Braintree restaurant, both part-time and full-time.

Welcoming the new restaurant to Freeport Braintree, centre manager Josef O’Sullivan said: “Bill’s is synonymous with a premium dining experience, which will further enhance the food and beverage offer available at the premier outlet in Essex.

“With the ability to now offer food - from 8 in the morning through to 10:30 at night - we’re confident Freeport’s customers will thoroughly enjoy their first visit to Bill’s and will quickly return to try it again and again.”
