A bargain clothing and homeware store specialising in designer labels is to open in Braintree, creating up to 40 jobs.

TK Maxx will open its doors in Braintree Retail Park, Charter Way, at 9am on September 7.

The 3,000 sq ft store will offer its products at up to 60 per cent less than the recommended retail price (RRP) and at a discount to the price in a high street or department store.

A TK Maxx spokesman said: “We’re delighted to be opening a brand new store in Braintree.

“We can’t wait for shoppers to walk through our doors and discover their own treasures.

“You never know what you might find. Pop by often, as there will always be exciting new designer finds and one-off gems for less every time you visit.”

The building is next to M&S Simply Food and used to be home to Carpet Right, which has moved into a separate unit in the retail park.

The store will stock homeware products and clothing and accessories for women, men and children.

John O'Toole, Asset manager of Braintree Retail Park, said: "We are delighted to introduce TK Maxx to our retail line-up at Braintree Retail and Leisure Park.

"The letting to TK Maxx further enhances Braintree’s reputation as an exciting retail destination and we plan to introduce more high profile names to the park’.

TK Maxx buyers travel the globe to find its products, which are usually one-off items or major labels.

TK Maxx Dagenham is also set to open its doors on the same day.
