HALSTEAD is enjoying a summer clean with a pristine sparkle being added to the town ahead of floral judgment month.
After an astonishing set of results last year, not only will Halstead compete in Anglia in Bloom, but also Britain in Bloom.
Hoping to bring national success to the town, green-fingered Halstead in Bloom volunteers have been putting the final touches to the town.
Margaret Eskins said: “I think we are almost there in terms of organisation, the route has been finalised and most of the work has been done, now we just need to stay on top of it until judging day.
“Now the sun has come out, the town really is looking lovely and hopefully that continues.
Anglia in Bloom judges will visit the town on July 14, and Britain in Bloom judges on July 31.
Last year the town retained its title as best overall entry in Anglia in Bloom, received a gold award and was crowned best town for the eighth year in a row.
Margaret added: “You look forward to it all year long, and then when the day comes you do feel quite apprehensive.
“But it really is an honour, especially to have been put forward by Anglia in Bloom judges to compete in Britain in Bloom.”
