A STORE director from Braintree joined colleagues on a mega bike ride for a dementia charity.
Mike Bromidge, retail director at Specsavers in Braintree high street, participated in the ride from Maldon through Rivenhall to Braintree, through Hatfield Peveral to Rayleigh before ending up back at the Maldon store after taking in the scenery in Danbury and Hanningfield.
Taking in Specsavers stores across the county, the team received a hero's welcome at each and balloons were released on their arrival at the Braintree store.
The team managed to raise £1,727 for the Alzheimer's Society thanks to generous donations from all Specsavers stores around Essex and the public.
Mike said: "It was great to see so many people in Essex come together to raise money for such a worthy cause.
"It was a really tough challenge but it was all worth it in the end.
"We’ve raised a huge amount of money for Alzheimer’s Society and we hope to raise even more in the future."
