FAMILIES flocked to a school fundraiser and managed to raise a grand total of £4,000.

On Sunday, dozens of children and their parents attended St Peter's Church of England Primary School, Coggeshall, for the school's annual inflatables fun day.

There were 12 different rides for kids to enjoy as well as bouncy castles and slides, all accessible with a special wristband.

Friends of St Peter's and the school's PTA operated stalls to raise funds directly for the school.

Sarah Cooper, one of the organisers, said: "We have been very lucky to have had a good run of weather over the past five years.

"We raised roughly £2000 but we have two parents who were involved in organising the event who will apply for pound for pound matched funding from their employers, and that will bring the total raised to £4000.

"We have recently invested in an outdoor space that can be used for productions, teaching, eating a packed lunch and just hanging out as well as a tire obstacle course.

"We buy essentials for teaching and things that add to the overall memories of the students, such as Christmas crackers for the annual Christmas dinner, fund visiting productions and donate money towards art and sports equipment, amongst many other things."
