A MEDIEVAL castle is hosting a bank holiday history extravaganza.
Over the weekend at Mountfitchet Castle, in Stansted, history fans can catch a glimpse of the castle’s medieval catapult in action.
The catapult was built to Norman specifications for an event back in 2014 but is rarely fired due to its complexity.
Kids can help load the catapult with soft fruits ready for it being fired three times each day.
There will be extra bank holiday fun on offer at the castle throughout the weekend.
Participation in activities is free with entry.
