A COUPLE are fundraising to help a premature baby charity, after their baby girl was born nearly seven weeks early.

Angela and Dave Farrow, from Rayne, are the parents of nine-month-old Harriet.

Harriet was due on August 24, but she was born at Broomfield Hospital on July 11.

Mrs Farrow and her husband, of Gore Terrace, are fundraising for Bliss.

Mrs Farrow said: “When I was 33 weeks pregnant I started to suffer from the worst back ache I have ever had.

“After being monitored overnight the midwives decided I was in early labor, after receiving two steroid injections 12 hours apart I was able to go home and rest.

“I thought everything was fine, how wrong I was.”

Her waters broke a couple of days later and Harriet was born weighing just four pounds, eight ounces.

Mrs Farrow said: “Because she was so little she had to stay in hospital for 12 days.

“I want to give something back, I have seen all the help the charity gives to others.”

The couple are organising a 5k walk from The Swan pub in Rayne, on May 20 at 2pm.

It costs £10 per family.
