A FITNESS coach who pushed himself to new limits has raised more than £500 for terminally ill children.

Tom Bottrill, from Witham, set himself a deadlift challenge, where he lifted 150kg 150 times every day for a month.

Mr Bottrill, 27, of Halcyon Close, is a coach at the Fitness Factory in Crittall Road.

He trains on a daily basis, but said this challenge for Little Havens Hospice is bigger than anything he has ever done.

He did a total of 3,900 reps of 100kg, lifting 390,000kg over 25 days.

He said: "Thank you to everyone that has donated during my deadlift marathon for Little Havens Children's Hospice.

"This money will really make a difference.

"Please continue to donate on my page and I will still be collecting down the gym until I've sent off all the sponsor money.

"A big thank you to the boss man Jon Wilkinson for his support, my old man Steve Bottrill for his generous donation of £150 to match my reps, and my amazing girlfriend Chloe Jennings who's always there to keep me motivated, look after me when I break my body and believes in my madness."
