BRAINTREE's famous gardens got a injection of colour ready for the start of spring thanks to a donation by an estate agents.

Joscelyne Chase, based on Bank Street, Braintree, donated some money to the Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens Trust so they could buy some new bulbs.

The estate agents are celebrating their 240th anniversary this year and gave the trust the funds to buy 240 bulbs, just in time for the start of spring and Plant a Flower Day on March 12.

Laura Marszalek, from Joscelyne Chase, said: "I’ve worked in Braintree for almost 4 years, and regularly enjoy time in the gardens. It’s lovely to be able to support such a worthwhile cause and for the benefit of the community as a whole.”

As part of a 12 month programme of sponsorship and fundraising the estate agents will be supporting the gardens directly.

Paul Bird, managing director of Joscelyne Chase, said: “Celebrating our 240th anniversary is a great opportunity for us to reconnect with our local area and be able to give back in ways that really mean something to the people who live and work in Braintree.

"It’s brilliant to see people investing time and money into making Braintree a pleasant place to be.”
