ONE of the biggest events for foodies across the district is set to return at its historic venue.

Now in its fifth year, Cressing Temple Barns Spring Food, Home and Lifestyle Fair takes place at the barns, on Witham Road, Cressing, on March 11 and 12.

Revellers can explore the beautiful grounds of the estate as well as the historic barns themselves.

There will be marquees and outside stands with something for everyone to enjoy.

On the extremely varied menu will be condiments, artisan cheeses, home cured and fresh meat, dairy products, confectionary, baked good, wine, beer and much much more.

Not only will the fair showcase the best of local produce, but more exotic treats from far and wide.

Cookware and home related products will also be on offer from expert providers.

There will be some chefs on hand providing cookery demonstrations which will be compared by Masterchef contestant Ondine Hartgroves, the displays will showcase the talents of Nigel Brown, James Barber, Sivakarmy Mahalingham and Anita Chipalkatty.

Best of all, these demonstrations are all included with the ticket price paid on entry.

As well as food stalls there will be arts, crafts and gift stands to peruse at your leisure so make sure you have plenty of spending money with you.

Hot food and alcohol are available from the many catering stalls.

If you miss next week’s event you won’t have to wait too long with the Oakleigh Fairs show returning again in October for an autumn edition.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £4 for concessions, kids under 16 go free.

Unfortunately no dogs are allowed on the site.

The show site opens at 10am and closes at 4pm on both days.
