A CHARITY is on the hunt for more volunteers to work as part of its improved telephone service.

Braintree, Halstead and Witham Citizens Advice Bureau needs members of the public to join its telephone advice team.

We reported last week that the Citizens Advice office on Coggeshall Road, Braintree, will be open five days a week from April 4, in a bid to make the service more accessible.

As part of the plans the charity needs volunteers who can give at least 10 hours a week to give advice to service users over the phone.

For those who would like to find out more, two information events are being held at Witham Library, Newland Street, on February 27 and at Braintree Library, Fairfield Road, on February 28.

Both events take place between 10am and 2pm.

Coral Valla, training supervisor at Citizens Advice Braintree, Halstead and Witham, said: "As well as an enormously rewarding role we can promise a welcoming, friendly and supportive workplace, full training and plenty of biscuits.”

If you are interested but cannot make either session email training@withamcab.cabnet.org.uk.
