A CHURCH of England junior school is celebrating a good rating in its latest church inspection.

Howbridge Church of England Junior School, on Howbridge Road, Witham, was rated as good in their Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools (SIAMs) report.

The report praised the school's commitment to the development and progress of each pupil, no matter their background.

Pupils were praised for their behaviour and the report found that every child was appropriately challenged.

Sean Wade, who has been headteacher at the school since 2012, said: "We aim to serve our community by providing education of the highest possible quality within the context and ethos of Christian belief.

"Our aim is to be a safe place of distinctive excellence where all are valued as individuals;We believe that with high expectations and hard work, our children can achieve almost anything.
