ROLL over Beethoven because a tribute act to a classic rock act are bringing their hits packed show to Witham Public Hall.

ELO Encounter are one of the best loved tributes bands to Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra.

The band put on quite a performance every time they hit the stage and the show features soaring strings, striking vocal harmonies and a rocking light show.

There is quite the back catalogue for the band to delve into, and revellers will hear classic hits like Evil Woman, Telephone Line, Don’t Bring Me Down and of course Mr Blue Sky.

Each band member is a fantastic musician in their own right, but they all share a love for ELO and dedicate themselves to accurately representing the band on stage.

Jeff Lynne famously grabbed the converted afternoon legend slot at Glastonbury Festival last year, to great critical and commercial acclaim.

And The ELO Encounter will hope to bring a slice of that magic to the stage in Witham on January 27.

The show takes place at Witham Public Hall, Collingwood Road, with doors opening at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £14 and can be bought by calling the box office on 0345 0178717.
