BRAINTREE Council is asking residents to rate the standard of its services.

Every year the council asks residents to take part in a survey to help identify areas for improvement.

Topics covered include litter, recycling and waste collections, parks and open spaces, sports and leisure facilities and value for money.

Last year the survey showed that 86 percent of people were satisfied with the council’s services, against a national average of 67 percent.

The Council also achieved the Customer Service Excellence Standard.

So far 621 people have given their feedback for this year’s survey but Braintree Council want to hear from at 1,000 residents.

John McKee, councillor responsible for corporate services and asset management, said: “We carry out a customer satisfaction survey each year and it always gives us valuable insight and feedback from our customers which helps guide our decisions for the local community.

“With local government finance facing it’s most significant change for decades with the ending of the main grant we receive from Central Government, it is more important than ever that we continue to engage with our residents so we can maintain our good services and minimise impact on customers.”

You can find the questionnaire online, at the council's offices, in next week's editions of the Halstead Gazette and the Braintree Times or by calling 01376 552525.

The closing date is March 31.
