A WOMAN is becoming increasingly frustrated with the bin men who keep forgetting to take away her rubbish.

Martine Norman, 58, lives in Maltings Court in Witham, and has a numbered bin store outside her property.

Over the past few months she has experienced on and off collections of her rubbish from her allocated slot, despite her neighbours having theirs collected correctly.

She said: “I religiously place my schedule for local refuse collections on the side of my fridge in my kitchen.

“I then do everything absolutely properly, cleanly, and responsibly.

“However, I have long periods when the dustmen just will not take my general waste.

"My numbered section becomes ignored when others, including those not even properly presented, are served."

Mrs Norman, who is an artist, has taken to placing notes on the back wall inside the store, reminding waste collectors that her items are to be taken.

Her recycling is always collected correctly and on time.

She said: “It is part of my nature to have things nice and tidy so this is particularly annoying.

“Sometimes in life you have to try and laugh things off but it does make me angry to think that I pay my council tax for this.

“They had it right for a time period and then it all started going wrong again, which makes you feel like you are not getting anywhere - it really is infuriating.”

A Braintree Council spokesman said: “We have looked into this for the lady concerned and have spoken to her to resolve the issue.”

The council have offered Mrs Norman a courtesy call on her scheduled collection days to ensure the issue is resolved.
