STAFF and children at Bocking Church Street Primary School have been praised by inspectors.

During the last inspection in 2014 the school required improvement as there was no clear action plan for achievement.

But following an inspection, the school has this week been told it is good, with personal development, behaviour and welfare being judged as outstanding.

The report said: “Since the previous inspection teaching, learning and assessment together with outcomes for pupils have improved and are now good. “The quality of teaching has improved because of rigorous monitoring, timely support and effective training for all staff.”

Headteacher Deborah Crabb, who has been in post since September 2015, thought the report validated the hard work of everyone at the school.

She said: “We are so proud of the children at our school and feel that the report really recognises the hard work of the children and staff alike.

“The quality of learning and teaching has improved and outcomes for pupils have improved as a result.”

Pupils’ behaviour in lessons and around the school was said to be exemplary.
