A CLASS of school pupils paid a visit to the library to sing some nostalgic tunes for a group of elderly people.

Members of the Beckers Green Primary School choir attended Braintree Library, on Fairfield Road, last Tuesday to meet with members of the Goldies sing and smile group.

The children sand three pieces including a First World War medley to the audience of older people who regularly attend Goldies sessions across the district.

There is a new monthly regular session which will take place at Braintree Library from February 6.

Rob Cadman, Goldies project leader, said: "We are so grateful to the library for their support of these new sessions and it was wonderful that the children from Beckers Green Primary School were able to come and entertain us this morning - they sang beautifully.”
