A FASHION designer raised hundreds for charity.

Amy Brooks, 24, who lives off Mill Hill in Braintree, debuted her spring/summer 2017 collection during a fashion show in Braintree Town Hall on October 15.

After leaving Hertfordshire University with a first class degree, Miss Brooks was contacted by Miss GB United Nations to design a dress for her final pageant in Jamaica and has now held her first fashion show for charity.

She said: "It was all a highlight for me really as working on the show for two months it was great to see it finally come together, particularly seeing my fashion collections out on the runway.

"I have been complimented a lot the fact I had a variety of girls in my show as I want my brand to be available to everyone.

"We managed to raise £293 for the chairman of Braintree Council's two chosen charities; Essex Search and Rescue and Witham, Halstead and Braintree Home Start.

"It was such a successful show I even gained a few orders as well as the three collaborations getting an order and selling their items on the night.

"We sold all the tickets and the audience was so fantastic it was such a buzzing evening and a success for my fashion collection and business.

"The chairman was so impressed with the result of the raffle and money we raised and he was impressed with the spirit of the Braintree community."

After the event Miss Brooks launched her website. For more information visit amyelizabethdesigns.uk
