PRIMARY school students got their first taste of the excitement of an election at their school parliament elections.
Pupils at Bocking Primary School, on Church Street, have been learning all about democracy and elections as part of the schools program to promote British values.
On Wednesday, the children cast their votes to elect school MPs, with the newly elected school parliament representing their classes to help impact on school life.
Children from years one to six exchanged their polling cards for an official ballot paper and cast their votes using a traditional cubicle and ballot box, kindly lent to the school by Braintree Council.
Year six pupils were tasked with running the polling station and ensuring that voting was fair.
The votes are now being counted and the school is eagerly awaiting the results next week.
