A LITTLE girl will be cutting off ten inches of her hair for charity.

Howbridge pupil Gracie Bristow, six, will be donating at least ten inches of her long blonde hair to the Little Princess Trust next month.

Proud mum Jenna Bristow, 31, has spent the last four months making sure Gracie is ready to cut off her hair before she visits Witham salon Finishing Touches on September 3.

She said: "Gracie came home from school about four months ago and told me she wanted to cut her hair off for the Little Princess Trust.

"I think she's been hearing about if rom school because she said she wanted it to go to another girl.

"It's a significant amount Gracie's having cut off, it will be cut just past her shoulders.

"She never has her hair cut because her favourite film is Rapunzel - we call her a little Rapunzel."

Braintree and Witham Times:

The family is planning on putting up balloons and posters up for Gracie - who has so far raised £295 - when she has her hair cut in an effort to celebrate her achievement.

Mrs Bristow, of Pennyroyal Crescent in Witham, describes Gracie as having "a heart of gold".

She said: "Gracie always said if she had her hair cut off it would go brown so it's a big thing for her.

"My mum has even tried to bribe her not to have it done.

"We are very proud of her and I've been making sure that it's something she is sure she wants to do.

"There will be quite a few people going when she has her hair cut - my mum, my ten-month-old Ralph and my husband Kieran."
