A CHURCH congregation took their worship outside at a special summer service.

Members of The Chelmsford and Braintree Seventh-Day Adventist Church met at Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens on July 30 to enjoy the sunshine and welcome members of the local community with music.

The church choir performed for the gathered crowds of both congregation members and the public and there were also other musical performances throughout the day.

Pastor John Melki, said: “Every year during the summer we take our congregation outside during a service.

“It used to be a normal church service just outside amongst nature, but this time we wanted to make it about the community.

“From the church about 150 people came and there was also lots of people from the community who came to listen to the singing. We had about 100 gifts to give out to them but we ran out so it must have been more than that. We were so happy about it.”

The Chelmsford and Braintree Seventh-Day Adventist Church are based in Roman Road in Chelmsford.
