CHILDREN were shown a little magic at Braintree Museum’s Harry Potter day.
Magician Dean Allen-Jones was called in to give the kids a traditional Hogwarts magic lesson in an authentic classroom specially prepared at the museum.
The event was part of the museum’s Sci-Fi at the Movies exhibition which runs throughout the summer holidays.
Emma Mack, from Braintree, has donated items from her huge collection of magical memorabilia for the duration of the exhibition, and several were on display to make the classroom and the museum more authentic.
Polly Redman, marketing and retail officer at Braintree District Museum, said: “It was fantastic, we had quite a few kids show up and all three sessions were full.
“The magician was amazing, he is great with kids. He is part of the Magic Circle and he was teaching the children magic tricks, he was not just showing them.
“He showed them that a lot of magic is down to science and they were all really enthralled by it and blown away. Everyone was smiling when they came out.”
