SCHOOL pupils from across the district took part in a graduation ceremony as part of the Essex Children's University.
Children donned a robe and cap to attend the ceremony at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford.
Over 140 children from Bocking Street Primary, Great Bradford's Junior, Holy Family Catholic, John Ray Junior, Lyons Hall, Notley Green, Richard de Clare, St Peter's and White Court primary schools received awards.
The university, which has campuses across the county, totals up the hours children aged between seven and 14 spend learning and volunteering out of school and rewards them.
The awards were presented by David Humber, the Provost of Anglia Ruskin's Chelmsford Campus.
Jane Collins, Braintree Children's University campus coordinator, said: "It was an amazing day, the children had fun and the parents were so proud - it is amazing to be a part of it."
