A VOLUNTARY organisation will be helping out at a community event this weekend.
Witham and District Lions club will be one of many local clubs and organisations at the Witham Town Community Day in Maldon Road Park on Saturday June 11.
The group will be running a free Diabetes screening session between 10.30am and 1pm and will be helping reunite any lost children with their parents using 'Green to be Seen' bracelets.
The Lions have also organised a 'message in a bottle' event for members of the public to complete in.
The group have recently completed several projects across the local community and are now proud sponsors of the town football club's youth development team and donated new shirts for the clubs home games.
They have also presented charities Homestart and Mind Colchester with cheques to help out with local projects.
On July 9, the group will hold their annual balloon race, the first prize for which is £100.
