Drink driver banned after hit and run
A DRINK-DRIVER who caused an injury in a hit and run crash has been banned from driving.
Raymond Meekcoms, 41, of Newland Street, Witham, admitted being nearly twice over the limit on March 4 in Witham Road, White Notley.
His Vauxhall Astra was then in an accident- causing an injury- but Meekcoms failed to stop.
Colchester Magistrates’ Court ordered him to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
He was disqualified for 18 months.
