A GARDEN centre has announced it will open on the site of a popular grocery and gift store in Braintree.

Chelmsford-based horticulturalist County Garden Management has announced it will be opening a garden centre on the site of the Blue Egg in Great Bardfield.

The garden centre will open next Friday, March 25, and will sell high quality plants and a range of garden accessories.

CGM director and founder Matthew Dawson said: “We are delighted to be opening the garden centre and to have the opportunity to grow and sell our own plants.

“The core of CGM to date has been garden management, design and landscaping, so the opening of the garden centre is the realisation of a long held ambition.

“When I started the company the ambition was always to provide horticultural excellence. We hope that with the opening of the garden centre we will be able to further demonstrate that.”

CGM, which is a member of Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), was founded in 2007, initially offering services in and around Chelmsford before branching out to Braintree two years ago.

The garden centre will be open at the site in Bluegate Hall Farm from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
