SENIOR citizens were getting into the swing at a tea dance held at the Witham Public Hall.
An afternoon tea was organised by Cofunds, a financial service provider, which wanted to give something back tot he community.
The dance, held at the hall in Collingwood Road yesterday, included music from the Jeff Short Swing Band, and Tesco Witham provided the tea and cakes.
Cofunds’ Location Director Matt Benson said: “As we employ so many people in the town, we like to get actively involved within the community - from sponsoring local sporting teams to raising money for charities.
"It was the first time we’ve held an event like this and we’re overwhelmed with the great response and feedback received from all those who came.
"Even better, money raised from the event will go back into the Witham Public Hall Trust meaning more events like these can happen.
“It was a great afternoon had by all and we’re extremely thankful to all residents, Jeff Short and Tesco Witham for all their help and support.”
A total of 108 tickets were sold at £5 each, meaning £540 was raised to go back to the Witham Public Hall Trust.
