A BRAVE mum-of-two has reached a fundraising goal of £35,000 after taking to the skies for a wing walking stunt.

Abbey Abbott, of Braintree, has been raising cash for Farleigh Hospice since her husband Lee died from bowel cancer two years ago aged 35.

Friends and family helped reach the target- which matched Lee’s age- with a variety of events.

She said: “I felt free from grief for the first time as I knew he was letting this happen and saying its okay.

“I could see my children on the ground and I felt him above us, so we were all together again.

“Lots of friends and family have all taken part in some amazing events and donated to help to reach this total.

“We've had coffee afternoons, family fun days, bike rides, marathons, mud races, pamper nights, quiz nights and so many more.”

Strapped to a plane with just a harness, Abbey was flown around at 100miles per hour for ten minutes.
