A mum who lost her premature daughter was "overwhelmed" after generous donors helped raise £4,500 for neonatal equipment.
Steph Routledge, 33, of Cornel Close, Witham, threw all her efforts into fundraising to mark what would have been her daughter Maisie’s third birthday and raised more than four times her original target of £1,000.
Little Maisie Routledge was born at just 23 weeks and survived for three hours at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford before she died on June 15, 2012.
She weighed just 1lb 91/2oz.
Along with her family and friends, Steph organised a night of entertainment in June at Witham Labour Hall, in Collingwood Road, which raised £3,500 for the neonatal unit at Broomfield, where Maisie would have been treated had she survived.
