POLICE dogs and handlers will give displays at Essex Dog Day this weekend to promote a new community safety scheme.
Essex Police are working with local councils and dog charities across the county to encourage dog walkers to to call in any suspicious behaviour they spot on their routes.
The Dog Watch scheme will be promoted at the event in Crix, Hatfield Peverel, on August 30.
The scheme was launched in Maldon in June, with Tendring soon following suit with launches across the district next month.
Essex Police will be sharing a stand with DogLost UK, a free service which helps to find lost dogs.
