Women have been rummaging through their underwear drawers to help tackle poverty and raise money for cancer research.

A Bra Bank was installed in New Look in Newlands Shopping Centre, Witham, to collect unwanted undies to be shipped to Africa by clothes recycling company, BCR Global Textiles.

Since the bank was installed at the start of June, more than 250 bras have been donated.

For every tonne of bras collected, the company will give £1,000 to go towards research by Against Breast Cancer charity.

All donated bras go towards improving the lives of textile traders across Africa.

The bank will be in place until the end of October.
