BURGLARS made off with silver plated cutlery and a watch after a man caught them in his house in the middle of the day.

The thieves fled through a back door of the property in Fennes Road, Bocking, at about 12.15pm on Friday, when the resident returned home.

They were last seen heading towards the Fennes wedding venue, with the cutlery and an imitation Rolex.

Police carried out a search of the area but the men were not found.

One of the suspects was described as white and the other of Mediterranean appearance with curly black hair.

Both were aged about 20.

Police would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in the area between 11.15am and 1pm.
