Introducing double yellow lines to a notorious Witham road will merely move commuter parkers elsewhere, it is feared.

Lines were painted along Guithavon Valley last week after increasing numbers of commuters were leaving their cars near the junction with Armond Road, creating a blind bend for drivers to negotiate.

The North Essex Parking Partnership took swift action in the area, but some residents and drivers fear it’s not enough to curb the problem.

The temporary measure, agreed by the partnership, Braintree Council, Essex County Council and Witham Town Council, will be in place for 18 months and will be monitored by partnership officers.
