A BRAVE mum raised £305 for a cancer charity when she let her daughter shave her head.

Angie Fuller, of Rustic Close in Braintree, lost her own mother, Phoebe De Faveri, to cancer two years ago.

The care worker said she wanted to give something back to a cancer charity and Macmillan Cancer Support’s Brave the Shave campaign gave her the inspiration.

She said: “As I was returning home after dropping my daughter Katie off at school I heard the campaign advertised on the radio and simply thought, I could do that, it's only hair it will grow back. So I signed up straight away.”

Angie’s other daughter, Sophie, 19, shaved her head at the Vintage Glamour beauty salon in Braintree where she works.

Angie said: “I wasn’t nervous about the hair cut as I like to keep my hair short with no fuss so that it’s easy to maintain. It was already styled in a short bob and now it’s shaved it’s even easier to look after.

“Lots of people are affected by cancer so it’s fantastic to be able to give something back to such an amazing cause.”
